JJek in your terminal: chat, send messages, add friends and get notified. One command installs it, with no sudo or admin.
Install
macOS and Linux
curl -fsSL https://downloads.akahs.com/cli.sh | sh
Windows (PowerShell)
irm https://downloads.akahs.com/cli.ps1 | iex
It downloads one file, checks it against its SHA-256 checksum, puts it in ~/.local/bin (on Windows, %LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\Akahs\bin) and adds that folder to your PATH. Open a new terminal afterwards if akahs-cli isn't found.
Run akahs-cli. It opens the Akahs website to sign in (passkey, Google or password) and comes back to the terminal by itself. No account yet? Run akahs-cli signup.
akahs-cli
On a server over SSH, sign in with a code instead of a browser:
akahs-cli login --with code
Update
akahs-cli checks for a new version once a day in the background and tells you when you quit. To update:
akahs-cli update
Only check, without installing:
akahs-cli update --check
Turn the daily check off with AKAHS_NO_UPDATE_CHECK=1. Running the install command again also updates.
